Part Time EFL - English as a Foreign Language: Daytime (6 hours a week) or Evening (4 hours a week) (18 years and above) - Multiple Start Dates

    Our English as a Foreign Language classes are offered at all study levels from Elementary to Advanced (subject to numbers). We offer daytime and evening study options - please see timetables below. The minimum level for our classes is Elementary (A2 - CEFR - Common European Framework of Reference).

    As a new applicant you will be asked to take a placement test (free of charge) to assess your level of English and identify the best level of study to suit your needs.     We offer general English classes which will develop your English Language skills using speaking, reading, writing and listening. We have a student-centred approach where the students are at the heart of what we do.

    We also have Cambridge Exam preparatory courses which focus on the language and skills you need to pass these well-respected and world-wide recognised exams. (Subject to numbers).

    Course objectives: Our General English courses will prepare you to communicate with confidence in real life situations - whether for work, study, travel or simply to talk to friends and family. Our enthusiastic and friendly teachers will use a variety of teaching methods, latest course books and materials, such as newspapers and the internet which will give you the skills and confidence to thrive. Lessons are fun and challenging so you will make progress quickly and enjoy your time in the classroom!

  • Course Content


    General English is taught at all levels except complete beginners and students can also prepare for the Cambridge Exams. Courses cover grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, and give students the necessary speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to progress to the next level.

    Course fees have been built taking into account the 'non-teaching days' which are the College Staff Improvement Days and national Bank Holidays (see dates above) . Therefore we do not offer refunds or 'make up' classes for FTE and EFL classes which fall on CPD days and bank holidays.

  • Progression Next Steps


    Students normally remain at the same level for two terms. Progression to the next level depends upon success in the end of term test and good attendance. Progression onto a higher level class is at the discretion of the tutor. Please make sure you have discussed with your tutor which course is suitable for the coming term and agree that it is the correct level. Student reports and references are available upon request.

    Course fee: £540 (Day), £360 (Evening).

    Payment: We do not charge a registration fee. Full fees must be paid at enrolment by cash, cheque or card. There is no option for instalment payments. No fee waivers or concessions are available. Places are non-transferable. The tuition fee, once paid, is non-refundable and non-transferable. This means that if you decide to leave your course for whatever reason, you will not receive a refund. Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis. Please visit the School office to discuss.

  • Course Structure


    Conversation Club - students can join our weekly Conversation Club (free of charge) on Mondays 16.00-16.30 and Thursdays 13.00-13.30.

    The tuition fee is £540 (This equates to £9 per hour) - this includes 60 hours tuition; six hours per week for 10 weeks PLUS an additional week of individual tutorials.
