What is the 16-19 Bursary Fund?
The Standard 16-19 Bursary Fund is available to students aged 16-18 (under 19 on 31st August 2017), with a total household income of less that £26,000 per year, to support them to continue in full time education and training by providing a contribution towards the costs of attending College such as transport, food, equipment and other course related costs. Please note that this is a limited fund. Students must meet the eligibility criteria and maintain a minimum of 90% attendance. Submission of an application does not guarantee funding.
The Full 16-19 Bursary Fund of £1,200 per year is available to young people aged 16-18 (under 19 on 31st August 2017) who are in one of the following priority groups:

How do I apply?
Once you have enrolled for your 2017-18 course at Kingston College you can apply for financial support.
Please note that you must have evidence of eligibility in order to apply.
To apply, please print and complete the application form attached at the bottom of this page and return this with the required evidence in person to Student Support Services. Alternatively, you can pick up a form from Student Support Services.

What Happens Next?
Your application will be assessed and we will then write to you to advise you what support you are entitled to and how this will be provided. If your application is not successful we will write to you to notify you of this.
Can I appeal against the College's decision?
You do have the right to appeal. If you wish to appeal please refer the College appeals process, available on the College website, or contact the Student Support Services Team.
How will I be paid?
The Bursary is paid on a weekly basis and the first payment is paid to every eligible student who applies. All following payments are dependent on your attendance and behaviour. ALL students MUST have an attendance of 90% throughout their course to maintain regular payments.
The Bursary is paid directly into your bank account, so you MUST have an account in your own name. If you cannot open a bank account please inform a member of the Student Support Services team (in very exceptional circumstances we can issue cheques) and there must be a legitimate reason for you NOT to have a bank account.
