Comedian, Actor, YouTuber, YouTube Global Creator for Change and former Kingston College Acting student Humza Arshad filled the College Theatre to the rafters at an incredible 14 shows over 4 days to thousands of students during our new student inductions.
Humza is a British and Pakistani YouTube comedian based in the UK. Widely known for his Diary of a Badman series on YouTube, Humza uses his self-deprecating comedy to tackle difficult issues like extremism and gang violence. Humza studied a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Kingston College and once again welcomed students during induction week, talking to them about family, politics, British Values, the importance of respect and tolerance in society, what extremism is and how to stay safe. The show finished with a message of peace encouraging students to perform random acts of kindness.
Humza is a YouTube A-lister and teen influencer with over 372,000 subscribers and videos which have been viewed more than 82 million times. In his official role as YouTube’s Global Creator for Change, Humza has seen his face on their #MadeForYou campaign on buses, trains, Snapchat and the Piccadilly Circus lights. There is also an upcoming BBC3 series, Coconut, about a “full Right-wing Pakistani guy who loves Katie Hopkins, Donald Trump and is a Brexit supporter” and he has a two book deal with Penguin.
Humza posted on Instagram how much he'd enjoyed his return saying: "The grind is real but my passion & love for what I do is realer! Thank you to everyone that turned up! I hope I made you smile.
