Apprenticeship in Sales and Telesales

This Apprenticeship framework is designed to meet the needs of employers and to provide a vocational pathway into the sales and telesales service profession.   The areas covered range from generating and qualifying sales leads building rapport with customers to negotiating and closing sales. Apprentices learn on the job practical skills, working in the business four days and attending College one day each week. The duration of the course is up to 18 months.

This sales and telesales Apprenticeship framework is designed to provide apprentices with the knowledge, skills and understanding they require to perform their job role and to support their future progression within the sector.

Course Content

Units are selected in accordance with the apprentice's job role, so are not exhaustive, these include:-

  • Understand how to operate in a sales environment 
  • Understand techniques and processes for effective selling
  • Understanding business awareness in sales 
  • Principles of presentations and demonstrations in sales
  • Process payments for purchases in a retail environment

 

Completion of these subjects will result in the following qualifications being achieved: 

 

  • Level 2 in Certificate in Principles of Sales
  • Level 2 NVQ certificate in sales
  • Functional Skills (if the candidate has not previously achieved a GCSE grade C in English or Maths
  • Employee Rights & Responsibilities
  • Personal learning and thinking skills

 

Entry Requirements

Level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths together with a genuine interest in the industry. Applicants should have an excellent reference and possess a positive attitude towards their development and progression in the sector.  They will need to be successful in the interview process with Kingston College and an employer for an appropriate role in the sales and telesales environment.

Duration and Delivery

The length of time taken will depend on the ability of the individual apprentice and employer requirements.  The minimum duration exceptable for the completion of apprenticeships is 12 months and maximum is 18 months. Successful applicants will learn on the job practical skills in the workplace 4 days per week and attend college one day per week.  This may include weekends, evenings and college holidays.

Progression

On successful completion of this course, students may progress to study an Advanced Apprenticeship or employment.

Students on this course aged 16-18 years are fully funded by the College

For students who are 19+ an Employer Contribution will be required

This Apprenticeship framework is designed to provide Apprentices with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to perform their job role and to support their future progression. Apprenticeships are an ideal way to help your businesses harness fresh new talent.

What do you need to know?

Apprenticeships can be suitable for either a new employee or an existing member of staff. They typically involve of four days a week ‘on the job’ training and one day a week at College. You will also be responsible for the apprentice’s wages which is now a minimum of £109.20 per week.

What qualifications can we offer?

This Apprenticeship consists of:

  • Level 2 in Certificate in Principles of Sales
  • Level 2 NVQ certificate in sales

Cost

16-18 year olds are fully funded by the College
