Medal for Excellence winner Tracey Jones who completed her Level 3 Diploma for Legal Secretaries studies with us last year, was thrilled to attend the The Lions Awards, the City & Guilds’ most prestigious annual awards show held on 15 June at the Kensington Roof Gardens. This year 85 Medals for Excellence were awarded both in the UK and internationally - and as well as being awarded with a medal, each medal winner was eligible to win a coveted Lion Award trophy.
Jenny Hands, Tracey’s Tutor and Team Leader – FE Business, commented: “Tracey and I had a lovely afternoon at the Roof Gardens in Kensington. Unfortunately Tracey did not win the People’s Choice Award, but she was sort listed for the higher accolade of Outstanding Achiever of the Year. So she was not only one of just 85 medal winners but in the top five of the two million City & Guilds students from across the World.”
Tracy scooped the City & Guilds Medal for Excellence Award in recognition of her exceptional work and outstanding performance. Five other Kingston College Legal Secretarial students were also recognised by City & Guilds and received Commendations.
The Legal Secretarial courses at Kingston College have an exceptional track record with 10 students winning the award over the last 11 years.
During the course Tracey completed work experience at Freshfields and towards the end of her course was invited to interview at 3 different law firms, and is now working for prestigious Kingston law firm, Carter Bells.
