Travel & Tourism students recently enjoyed a three day trip to Rome on their overseas residential to gather research material and undertake assessments as part of their HNC and HND in Travel & Tourism Management.
The 12 students accompanied by lecturers, Ciaran Fox and Victoria Wright, visited famous tourist attractions including the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Hippodrome of Domitian.
The students commented: “During our trip we also visited the Vatican and were lucky enough to see the Pope come out and speak to the crowds from his window balcony as part of his usual Sunday Service at midday! We had an excellent time exploring the sights and sounds of the beautiful historical city of Rome and gained valuable information about Travel and Tourism in Rome.”
The students also spent time in St Peter’s Basilica Church in the Vatican and saw Michelangelo’s sculpture ‘Pieta’ as well as the Vatican Museum where they saw the famous Sistine Chapel.
