Fees & Finance F

Fees & Finance F (0)

  • Student Finance Loans

Eligible students studying their first undergraduate degree do not have to pay fees up front.

  • Directly Funded Courses

A ‘directly funded’ course means that tuition fees are payable to Kingston College. If you are not eligible for a student loan you will need to pay your fees in full at enrolment. If you have an existing debt with the College you will need to pay this before you will be able to enrol for further courses.

  • Already have a Degree?

If you already have a degree and wish to do another one, you may not be eligible for any government loans for tuition fees or other costs, or any College-funded scheme such as the HE progression bursary.

However, you may still get limited funding if, for example:

    • you change course
    • you leave your course but decide to start again
    • you’re ‘topping up’ a higher education qualification, for example you’ve finished an HNC, HND or Foundation Degree and now want to do an Honours degree
    • you hold an Honours degree or higher level of qualification and start a part-time Honours degree in engineering, technology or computer science (or a joint Honours in 2 of these subjects)
    • you already have a degree and you’re starting a healthcare course (except for dental hygiene or dental therapy) on or after 1 August 2017

Further information on student loans and finance can be found at the Gov.uk website.

  • Sponsored Students

If an employer or sponsor is paying your fees on your behalf please provide a letter from them stating that they will cover your fees and provide a contact name and address for invoicing. If you do not provide this information you will be liable for full payment of fees yourself.

Support for Disabled Learners in Higher Education

At Higher Education level the usual method of funding is the Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) from your local authority. It is important that you start the process of applying for this as early as possible and when you apply for a student loan you will be directed to the DSA link.
