Barbershop based training providing hands-on practical sessions in the evenings.

Our industry experts will guide learners to achieving the latest skills required within the barbering industry. Students will become proficient in haircuts, learn tricks of the trade and techniques to personalise haircuts. With tutor support, students will refine cutting techniques with a focus on finishing and cutting with speed. This qualification covers all the core skills you will need to progress to enter employment in the barbering industry or progress to further learning or training.

  • Entry Requirements


    Applicants must be 19+

    We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

    3 x GCSE's at any grade including Maths and English and/or relevant vocational equivalent.

  • Course Content


    This course will cover:

    • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp
    • Advise and consult with clients
    • Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work
    • Cut men's hair using basic techniques
    • Dry and finish men's hair
    • Create basic outlines and detailing in hair
    • Fulfil salon reception duties
    • Assist with shaving services

    Achievement of this qualification demonstrates to an employer that you have the essential skills and knowledge of health and safety, customer service and also the necessary technical skills to be employed as a barber, either in a barber shop, a hairdressing salon or hotel.
