Apprenticeship Awards Evening

Apprentice of the Year 2019, Dan Clowes 22 July, 2019 Apprentice of the Year 2019, Dan Clowes

On 26 June 2019, our Engineering apprentices exchanged their overalls for evening attire at a Presentation Evening where individuals were recognised for their work ethic, focus and overall effort.

We were delighted to welcome guest speaker Glyn Moorshead, Engineering Training Manager at Heathrow Airport Holdings Limited (HAL).

Before handing out the awards, Glyn was shown an Outward Bounds video which the apprentices had made of their Outward bounds experience.

The awards provided recognition to a number of apprentices for their workmanship, enthusiasm and attendance with prizes being handed out from global engineering and manufacturing companies HAL, Babcock and Kohler.

Most Improved Apprentice

John Gatehouse from Glaxo, chosen for his great overall improvement in year long development both practically and academically.

Best Workmanship

Nathan Harradine from Lufthansa, for taking great care and pride in the appearance of his work, both practical and written and completing everything to a high standard.

Apprentices Apprentice of the Year

Dan Callard from Rolls-Royce - Dan was a popular choice and clear winner.

Apprentice of the Year Runner-Up

Adam Hargreaves from HAL for his excellent attendance and time keeping and for his consistently good standard of work and throughout the year.

Apprentice of the Year

Dan Clowes from Mars for his constant enthusiasm and great interest in engineering. Dan is always polite and thoughtful of others, supporting them when he can. He is confident and keeps the tutors on their toes by always questioning to find out more details.
