The CACHE Level 3 Award Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator) is a qualification that prepares you to work unsupervised, or in a supervisory capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of Children's Services. This qualification is the equivalent to three A Levels.
Course ContentStudents spend their time in College and on a practical placement applying theory to practice. Conditions and working hours vary slightly according to the practical placement. We will arrange for you to complete a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, formally known as the CRB check, and this will be explained to you upon enrolment. To achieve the Diploma you must complete 15 units and two externally set and marked assignments.
Entry RequirementsFive GCSEs at grades A*- C/9-4 including English Language and Mathematics. Alternatively, you must have GCSE English Language and Maths at grade C/4 and a Level 2 Certificate in a related subject at Merit or Distinction. Successful interview and a satisfactory reference are required plus a DBS police check for the placement.
International Entry RequirementsHigh School Leaving Certificate equivalency at grade C or above, to include Mathematics or Science, or other related comparable qualifications. IELTS (UKV1) 5.5 or above is required together with a satisfactory reference. A Skype or face-to-face interview will also take place.
Duration and DeliveryThe course is a minimum of two years, full time.
ProgressionEntry to Higher Education courses, e.g. teacher training (this Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels). Alternitively, entry into the workforce as Early Years Educator.
