The course is structured around five themes:
Health and wellbeing
Legislation, frameworks and professional practice
Play, development and learning for school readiness
- Employer Rights and Responsibilities
Applicants should have a sponsoring employer with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours a week in an early years setting. Applicants should also have good IT skills and places are dependant on a satisfactory reference and interview.
Duration and Delivery
Up to 2 years to complete the programme, one day a week at College. Course commences September 2019 and January 2020.
On successful completion of this Intermediate Apprenticeship, learners can progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship for the Children & Young People’s Workforce (Early Years Educator Pathway) from which it is possible to go onto the Foundation Degree programme in a relevant study area.
Cost - An employer contribution is required for learners aged 19 or over. You will need to study Functional Skills Level 1 in English/Maths/IT, alongisde this course, if you haven't already achieved these subjects at this level.
