NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) (16-19 year olds)

The NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education and Care (Early Years Educator) is a qualification that prepares you to work unsupervised, or in a supervisory capacity, with children and their families in a variety of settings and environments within the sector of Children's Services. This qualification is the equivalent to two A Levels.

Content

Students spend their time in College and on a practical placement applying theory to practice. Conditions and working hours vary slightly according to the practical placement. To achieve the Diploma you must complete 15 units and two externally set and marked assignments.

Entry Requirements

You need four GCSE's at grades A*-C/9-4 including English Language or Mathematics at Grade C/4 or have successfully passed a Level 1 course with Functional Skills in English and Mathematics.  Selection is by interview with tutors.   A satisfactory reference and DBS police check is required.

International Entry Requirements

High School Leaving Certificate equivalency at grade C or above, to include Mathematics or Science, or other related comparable qualifications.  IELTS (UKV1) 5.5 or above is required together with a satisfactory reference. A Skype or face-to-face interview will also take place.

Duration and Delivery

The course is a minimum of two years, full time.

Progression

Entry to Higher Education courses, e.g. teacher training (this Diploma is equivalent to three A Levels). Alternitively, entry into the workforce as Early Years Educator.
