L3 - Diploma for IT Users ( ITQ)

Information and Communication Technology is the ever-developing computer-based technology that is opening up communications and the exchange of information on a global scale. ICT has found its way into all aspects of life, from entertainment to most areas of work. This qualification will prepare you for a wide range of further courses or employment in junior positions.

  • Entry Requirements


    4x GCSE's at C/4 or above Level 2 qualification (merit level or above) Applicant must have either English and/or a maths qualification at GCSE4/C.

  • Course Content


    During this course you will build up a portfolio of coursework. You will learn how to present and handle informtion, to understand the functions and forms of software and hardware and to plan and develop ICT-based solutions.

    • Computer Systems and Hardware
    • IT Security
    • Database Systems
    • Spreadsheet Modelling
    • Website Development
    • Computing Graphics
  • Progression Next Steps


    This course is not recognised by universities and therefore does not have any UCAS points attached to it. However, it can be a good course to build skills and knowledge to move onto the BTEC level 3 Extended Certificate in IT which is recognised by universities. This course can be an excellent stepping stone for those also wishing to enter the world of work or apprenticeships within the IT field.
