Higher Apprenticeship for Network Engineer this apprenticeship provides the skills knowledge and competence required to become an IT Network Engineer in a wide range of job roles such as:

Network Technician, Network Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Administrator

Apprenticeships are flexible and designed to offer a structured program of learning to fit around the needs of the individual and the employer. Learning takes place mainly during employment through the development of ‘on the job skills’ supported by ‘off the job training’ one day week which will often take place at Kingston College. The apprenticeship leads to nationally recognised qualifications such as the new CCNA 1 and 2

Course Content

  • Knowledge Module 1: Network Principles (for Level 4 Network Engineer)
  • Knowledge Module 2: Network Systems and Architecture (for level4 Network Engineer Apprenticeship)
  • Knowledge Module 3: Network Security (for level 4 Network Engineer)
  • This includes Vender Qualifications to match: CCNA Server+ and Security +

 

Followed by an Endpoint assessment.

Entry requirements

Either a level 3 apprenticeship, A levels; or other relevant qualifications; relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths. GCSE Mathematics and English at Grade A*-C  or 4-9 and suitable employment.

Duration and Delivery

Typically 24 months- off the job training typically one day a week, at College and work

Progression

On successful completion of this course students can progress onto further Level 4 or degree qualifications or apprenticeships
