This course is intended for candidates who are curious about counselling and who want to find out more, perhaps as a step towards further training or for their own personal development. Successful completion leads to an award by the Counselling & Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB)
• Provide an introduction to basic counselling skills and the beginnings of an understanding of counselling practice and ethics
• Provide knowledge of some basic underpinning theory of counselling
• Assessment includes an ongoing learning journal, a practical assessment of skills and an external exam (one hour)
Duration of the course is part-time, 10 weeks, with September, January and April start dates. There is a day time option (9.30am - 12.30pm) and an evening option (Monday 5.30pm - 8.30pm). There is also a November start date that is daytime only 11am-2pm on Fridays.

We are now taking applications for the November start course running 06/11/20 - 22/01/21 held on Fridays 11am - 2pm and the January start Day (9.30am - 12.30pm) and Evening (5.30pm - 8.30pm) course running 04/01/2021 - 15/03/2021.
