Barbering Beginners Course (19+)

This course is a perfect introduction to the technical barbering skills needed to succeed in men's barbering. This beginners course will introduce you to the basics of cutting men's hair and by the end you'll be able to create different hair styles using scissors and clippers.

 

Course Content

You'll be taught in our industry-standard working salon and gain practical experience in the following areas:

  • Cutting men's hair into a one-length or layered style
  • Using clippers
  • Styling men's hair
  • Selecting and using finishing products to complement your finished style

There is no coursework or exams during this course, but you'll be expected to complete an informal practical assessment at the end of the programme. On successful completion of the course, progression onto the full Level 2 Barbering qualification could be an option.

Duration and Delivery

Students must be 19 years of age or above at the start of the course.  Next course start date is Monday 16 November.  One evening a week for 6 weeks (Monday 5.30pm - 9.15pm) 

All courses run subject to demand and the content listed here should be used as a guide only.

Progression

This course is a great starting point if you want to work as a barber, run your own barbering business or progress onto further training in this area. (Level 2 Barbering.)

Additional Information

This is including a fee to cover the cost of a professional hairdressing and styling kit that you will need in order to complete the course.  As the course is run in our working salon, you'll need to wear smart black clothing (no trainers or jeans) as part of the salon uniform.
