Higher National Diploma (HND) for Hair and Beauty Management
The Beauty & Make Up industries are one of the fastest growing industries within the UK with a vast amount of employment opportunities available. BTEC Higher National qualifications in Hair and Beauty Management provide a nationally recognised qualification offering career progression and professional development for those already in employment in the Hair and Beauty sector who wish to progress to Hair and Beauty management, as well as provide opportunities to progress into higher education.
HND Units may include:-
- Health and Nutrition
- Indian Head Massage
- Sport & Exercise Massage
- Working With and Leading People
- Small Business Enterprise
And optional units which may include):-
- Public relations
- Work based experience
Applicants must have access to a suitable salon where they will be supported in a management or supervisory role.
Entry RequirementsHNC in Hair and Beauty Management course. In addition, applicants should have four GCSEs at grades A*-C to include English and Maths, or an alternative level 2 qualification in Numeracy and Literacy. Applicants should be proficient in written English.
DurationOne year full-time course. Lectures will take place two and half days a week (exact days and times of delivery to be confirmed). These will include day and evening sessions.
ProgressionStudents can progress onto management positions within the Hair and Beauty industry or into higher education at BA Hons level.
Additional InformationWe are now starting to interview this course for September 2018 start. The course will provide students with the opportunity to gain entry to university or paid employment within the industry. The tuition charge for the HND course for 2018/19 is around £4600. Students will also need to purchase their own kit and uniform for practical sessions (price dependant on specialism).
