Employers will set their own entry requirements in order to start on this apprenticeship. There is a requirement to have literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to GCSE at grade D (level 4) or level 1 Functional Skills in English and Maths.
Duration and Delivery
The minimum duration acceptable for the completion of apprenticeships is 12 months and maximum is 18 months.
Delivery will be in partnership with employers and adopt a blended approach of on and off the job training and professional development. Apprentices will receive training and mentoring in the workplace and knowledge, skills and behaviour development at Kingston College through classroom and kitchen based activities.
Progression from this apprenticeship is expected to be into a chef de Partie role or senior production chef role.
