Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC Hospitality Management

The Hospitality industry is one of the fastest growing industries within the UK with a vast amount of employment opportunities available. HNC in Hospitality Management is a logical step towards a managerial position within the industry and a BA Honours degree.

 

Entry Requirements

Typical offer: 32 UCAS points from: Subject/level: BTEC Level 3 in Hospitality & Catering or 2 A-levels at C grade or above plus five GCSEs at grades A*-C to include English and Maths, or an alternative level 2 qualification in Numeracy and Literacy. Mature learners with no formal qualifications, but with industry experience will be considered on a case by case basis. We welcome applications from international students with equivalent and IELTS 5.5.

Course Duration

The HNC is a Full Time course and is studied during the day and into the evening (Exact days and times of delivery to be confirmed). There is an option to 'top up' and complete a second year (HND) in International Hospitality Management.

Course Content

Students will study a mix of mandatory and optional units. These are at Level 4 and are a minimum of 120 credits in Size

Mandatory/core units include:-

  • The contemporary Hospitality Industry
  • Managing the customer experience
  • Professional Identity and Practice
  • The Hospitality business toolkit
  • Leadership & management for service industries

 

And optional units which may include:-

  • Managing conference & events
  • International gastronomy
  • Managing food & Beverage operations

Progression

Students who pass the HNC course will be given the opportunity to progress to the HND course, which can lead to a BA (Hons) in Hospitality Management (at a partner university). Alternatively, students may wish to enter employment within the industry.

Additional Information

Tuition fees 2018-2019 for Home/EU students is to study the Day Provision - £5500

Fees information for International students - £9000 plus awarding body fees and consumables

This course is delivered at the Kingston College Kingston Hall Road Centre, Kingston Hall Road, Kingston on Thames KT1 2AQ.  However the practical units are delivered at our Merton Campus.

The course will provide students with the opportunity to gain entry to university or paid employment within the industry.
