The Television Academy has announced the nominations for the 71st Emmy Awards, including the categories of outstanding sound editing and sound mixing.
Poppy Kavanagh who studied a Level 3 BTEC Music course at Kingston College (2007-2009) has been nominated for a Music Editor Emmy in Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction program 2019 for her work on the 2-part HBO and Channel 4 documentary, Leaving Neverland.
Dan Reed's poignant documentary Leaving Neverland, which chronicles allegations of child sexual abuse against Michael Jackson, has been nominated for five Emmy nominations.
The categories include Outstanding Directing for a Documentary/Nonfiction program, Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Special, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction program, Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program.
The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will air on FXX on Saturday 21 September, followed by the 71st Emmy Awards on Sunday 22 September from the Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.
