All Performing Arts courses consist of practical sessions, lectures, workshops and performances covering a range of skills and include core and specialist elements delivered by subject specialist staff. Study programmes are scheduled to include GCSE Maths & English classes which are compulsory where a Grade C/4 or above qualification has not been prior achieved in one of these subjects.

There are opportunities for theatre visits/ trips/workshops throughout the year and we invite in professional practitioners to inspire and give industry advice. There is considerable emphasis on group work and collaboration, so all students are expected to be committed to the group and to the discipline of rehearsal and performance.
Our team of specialist course tutors interview and audition every applicant to ensure suitability for the course, audition information will be sent out on application. Entry requirements on to the 90 Credit Diploma are: four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma (Merit), or BTEC L2 Extended Certificate (Merit) plus one GCSE at C/4 or above. Your grade profile must include English or Mathematics GCSE at C/4 or above. Applicants will also need to provide a satisfactory reference.
Entry requirements for the Extended Diploma in Performing Arts are: successful completion of a BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Performing Arts and a satisfactory reference.
International Entry Requirements
Our team of specialist course tutors interview and audition every applicant to ensure they are placed on the correct course, please see audition information. For entry on to the 90 Credit Diploma, applicants will need a High School Leavers Certificate grade C or above or other related comparable qualifications. Applicants will also need to provide a satisfactory reference and undergo a practical audition if student is in the UK, video accepted from students overseas. IELTS 5.0 or equivalent certificate.
For entry onto the Extended Diploma in Performing Arts applicants will need to have successfully completed a BTEC Level 3 90 Credit Diploma Performing Arts and satisfactory reference. IELTS 5.0 or equivalent certificate.
Duration and Delivery
The 90 Credit qualification is a one year full-time course and is equivalent to 1.5 A-levels. On successful completion of the 90 credit qualification, the natural progression is to advance on to the second year Extended Diploma course (1 year full time). On successful completion of the Extended Diploma students will have achieved the equivalent to three A-levels.
Students who successfully complete the Extended Diploma in Performing Arts can progress to Higher Education; many progress in-house onto our Level 4 HNC course or BA (hons) Acting for Stage and Media course, while others have achieved places at Universities and specialist Performing Arts Institutions, such as the Central School of Speech and Drama, Urdang, GSA and Rose Bruford. Many students will use this course as a direct step into creative industries employment.
