The Certificate in Learning & Development is a course for trainers in a business environment aimed at existing or potential in-house trainers and training consultants, and those who have training as part of their role. This is a Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) Foundation Level qualification. On successful completion of CLD, you will also gain Associate Membership of the CIPD.
The Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development have graded all the CIPD courses offered at Kingston College as Grade I Outstanding.
Course ContentTo achieve the Certificate, learners need to achieve 26 credits which are all core units. A further 12 credits, made up of two specialist units, can lead to a Diploma which we will offer subject to sufficient numbers.
Entry RequirementsThere are no specific entry requirements but personal qualities such as motivation and commitment are very important. ICT skills are also very useful. Experience of working in an office environment is required. At course induction, there will be a diagnostic test to determine entry levels for literacy.
Duration and Delivery The course is delivered over two evenings per week initially, reducing to one evening per week after the first term, for one academic year. This is likely to be a Wednesday evening.

ProgressionOn successful completion of the Certificate or Diploma in Learning and Development, the CIPD offer an Intermediate Level and an Advanced Level. Kingston College will offer the Intermediate Level if enough suitable candidates apply.
Additional Information Tuition fee for academic period 2016/2017 is £1,600.00
Students will also be expected to join the CIPD as a student member. CIPD fees are approximately £130.00
Employers Bonus: Two or more students attending the same course sponsored by the same employer will receive a 10% discount on fees.
The teaching team consists of CIPD qualified and experienced practitioners, all of whom are fully qualified teachers. Classes will be held at our Drapers Court Centre, Kingston Hall Road, Kingston on Thames KT1 2BQ.
