To achieve the Certificate in HRM, learners need to achieve a minimum of 32 credits comprising 14 credits from the core units and 18 credits from the specialist units. The units include:
- Developing Professional Practice
- Business Issues and the Contexts of Human Resources
- Using Information in Human Resources
- Managing the Human Resources Function
- Employment Law
- Employee Engagement
Duration and Delivery
The course syllabus is 160 hours, which equates to two evenings study a week for one academic year. However, the College offers a blended learning approach which involves half the time as group study in College and the other half as self study in your own time using the College's Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Moodle.
Evening and a day course are run for the certificate with start dates of September and February for the evening courses and flexible start dates for the day programme.
The tuition fees for the day and evening programme are £2000, however you may be eligible for an Advanced Learner Loan of £724.
Students are required to join the CIPD as a student member. CIPD fees are approximately £130.
The teaching team consists of CIPD qualified and experienced practitioners, as well as experienced lawyers, all of whom are fully qualified teachers.
