Subject Areas

3D Design

3D Design covers a wide range of different design areas and disciplines, literally everything that is designed for, and in, three dimensions from electronic goods to cars and bikes, from architecture and interior design to packaging, from handmade craft goods to exhibition and museum design .

Art & Design

From Level 1 through to Foundation and Honours Degrees, our renowned Creative Industries Centre offers courses at all levels in the study of art and design, and its related areas such as graphic design, 3D design, photography, and fashion and textiles.

Dance

Dance covers all aspects of dance training. It will develop your technical and performance skills in a wide variety of dance styles. You will have many opportunities to showcase your acquired skills throughout the year in a range of performance platforms.

English & Maths Retakes

To prepare students for further/higher education and working life, it is now a national requirement that students achieve Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematic GCSE.

Here at Kingston College students will study English and Mathematics as part of their Study Programme to give them the opportunity to achieve grade C/4 or better.

Fitness & Coaching

If you are passionate about nutrition, exercise and helping others, Fitness & Coaching could be a great option for you. We offer courses at Levels 1, 2 and 3 to help you on your journey towards a rewarding and flexible career that allows you to improve people’s lives.

Hair & Beauty

We offer a range of full time and part time courses in the hairdressing and beauty therapy sectors, alongside our popular range of evening and weekend workshops designed to introduce you to new skills or to develop and expand the skillset of professionals in this field.

Interactive Media & Games Design

An exciting and challenging course giving you the opportunity to acquire skills and understanding of games design and construction and to critically engage with a rapidly changing and vibrant industry..

Media

Media courses are available at all levels from GCSE through to Foundation and Degree level. Focus is on moving images including television, film and video, radio and web-based technologies and new media. You have the chance to develop and express your own ideas using a range of state of the art facilities.

Music

The dedicated professional lecturing team in our music department offer industry level training in a wide range of practical and theoretical areas to ensure you are well prepared for progression into employment in the music industry or other related areas, or onto undergraduate study, both in performance or music technology.

Performing Arts Make-Up

The exciting world of special effects hair and make-up for stage, media, photography and fashion provides a wealth of opportunity to travel the world. You will have the opportunity to explore your potential through creating and applying prosthetics, airbrushing techniques and fantasy hair design on this highly practical course.

Public Services

The Public Services programme of courses is designed to equip you with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for a career in the public and uniformed services. You will learn what careers are available and what people who work in these careers do. You are also offered the opportunity to study Functional Skills/GCSE Maths and English, where appropriate. Career paths may include the Police Force, Air Force, Fire Service, Prison Service and Security.

Sport

The study of sport and its various pathways, including sports science and sports analysis and coaching, provides you with aims directly related to the changing needs of employers in specific areas of the sport and recreation industry. Study may lead to career paths such as Recreation Assistant, Gym Instructor or Community Sport Coach. Our undergraduate courses qualify you for careers in Sports Science, Sports Therapy or Sports Management as well as many other roles in the leisure and fitness industry.

Our Careers Advice Team offers a client centred, confidential, impartial and accessible service which is delivered by professionally qualified staff. The service is available for students of all ages and meets the needs of both our learners and the wider community. Our Careers Advisors are available to offer advice and practical support on a range of opportunities including part time work, volunteering, Apprenticeships and study options including College and University courses.

Preparation for College Life in September 2020

If you are currently in Year 11 and have either applied or hold an offer with the College, we are putting together a pack of resources to help you with the transition to your College course in September. The resources will be tailored to your specific subject area and consist of activities and materials designed to lay the foundations for your course.
