Year 1 Protective Services students enjoyed an MS Teams session with Corporal Andrew Miller from the British Army Reserves G(Guards) Company.

It was an interactive session with the students gaining valuable knowledge about the role and responsibilities of the British Army Reserves. Corporal Miller discussed the different countries that he has visited as part of his Army Reserves training as well as the variety of roles within the British Army including his role in the Human Resources department and dealing with logistics. He also quizzed the students on their understanding of Army Standards and Values. Corporal Miller discussed these Army values as being Courage, Discipline, Respect for others, Integrity, Loyalty and Selfless commitment.

Tutor Ciaran Fox commented: “Having a good understanding of these values and standards are very important for the upcoming external BTEC exam on Unit 2 (Behaviour and Discipline in the Protective Services) that the students will be undertaking in January. This session with Corporal Miller was very helpful and the students gained valuable knowledge.”
