South Thames College hosted a Christmas market last December with handmade items from our students in aid of The Dons Local Action Group.

Learners from Skills for Employment met Craig, one of the chairmen for The Dons Local Action Group. He came in and explained why they set the charity up, how easy and quickly it developed and, more importantly, why. He truly believes that no one should face the effects of poverty. Craig left an impression on the students – they offered to volunteer for the charity and donate all the proceeds of the Christmas market to the charity. Health and Social care students have also been collecting and wrapping Christmas presents to donate to them. The market raised a total of £226.
