Gregory Yu has gained D*D* in Travel & Tourism and D* in Aviation Operations, and has accepted a place at University of Surrey to study BSc (Hons) International Tourism Management with Transport.

“I am extremely curious about the tourism industry as I am always amazed with majestic attractions in major cities of the world. Based on my passion about the tourism industry and visiting major cities such as Paris, I decided it would be best to study a BTEC, to learn more about the subject, as well as finding a career. Over the past 2 years, Kingston College has been supportive as I have learnt how tourism plays an important part in the world and grateful for choosing something I love.

“One unit that stood out to me was the Current Travel Trends and Issues in the Industry. Although, this was quite challenging to complete, I found this very useful as I have managed to obtain numerous skills such as time management and researching trends and issues that stood out.

“If you’re thinking of coming to Kingston College, you should definitely manage your time carefully. Once you receive your first assignment, do as much as you can because the number of assignments will keep piling on and it will be stressful to meet those deadlines. During the Easter Holidays, I was invited to work in Rome as a front of desk intern, as part of the Turing Scheme. This was a fantastic experience as it helped me to meet employers within the hotel and to experience what it would be like to work in a 5* hotel. I enjoyed working there every day and I thank the College for setting up this, once in a lifetime opportunity

“My teachers (especially Mateo) always cared for us in each lesson as they were always open to questions after their presentation and wanted to help when we were working on our assignments. I am thankful for all the hours I have put in towards my assignments as I now progress towards the next step of my career.”
