The BTEC Level 3 Digital Games Design students were given the theme of movement and had to research and study the life of Kingston born Eadweard Muybridge who was a pioneer of both photography and animation in the 19th Century. The group worked with the Seoyoung Kim, the Curator of the museum on content around Muybridge’s life and studied the processes of animation and the history of movement.

Providing valuable feedback Seoyoung Kim commented: “I am impressed by the creativity and technical ability that are presented in the learners' works. All learners understood the project briefing well and created engaging short animations. Many of the works contain interesting and creative interpretations of the given subject 'movement'.”

Keiran Blaszczyk, Lecturer - Art and Design (Digital) said: “The work has been so successful that the museum has decided to place 14 of the selected works within their next exhibition. Congratulations and well done to the students.”

The 14 selected works will appear in ‘In Motion: Your Stories’ with other selected material and will run from the 30th September 2022 – 11th March 2023.
