To increase student motivation and well-being, Kingston College celebrated themed Resilience Weeks from 23rd January to 3rd February. This followed the resounding success of Safety Weeks last term.

Over 600 students took part in activities across the two weeks, which included information stands at both campuses at Kingston Hall Road and the Creative Industries Centre, to discuss the different ways that students can stay motivated. Students had the opportunity to pick up stress-relieving freebies and tips to improve their moods including glitter tattoos and exercises from the KC Active team.

The highlight of the week culminated in talks from inspiring speaker, Mr Beezy, who spoke with students about strategies and techniques to make the most of their studies and time in College.

99% of students said they felt ‘more motivated to work towards their future’ after attending the talk and found the sessions ‘relatable’, ‘very motivational’ and said ‘it gave me tips on how to revise’

College Student Engagement Adviser Rachel Atkins (Student Support Services) said: “Resilience Week was a really positive start to the new term. It was great to see students enjoying the various activities and helping to motivate each other to achieve their goals."

Student Services Co-ordinator, Leila Carr, added: "The feedback from the Resilience Weeks from students has been absolutely brilliant! The Mr Breezy talks have really motivated so many students into wanting to do well and has changed many attitudes towards their studies. This was a resounding success!"
